Sisters and partners Tere (LEHS '06), Ana Gaby (LDE '11), Marcela (LDG '13), and Lorena Alanís Santos (Bachillerato '14), have always been real foodies. "We always dreamed about starting a business together, and with Montacometa we made our dream come true in 2014,” Marcela told us.

Majoring in very different areas has given them very different perceptions which have made valuable contributions to Montacometa. Tere majored in Humanistic and Social Studies, which has enriched her as the leader of a team of people in the kitchen. Ana Gaby studied Law and she handles all the legal and communication aspects of the business. Marcela majored in Graphic Design and she is responsible for the esthetics and photography of Montacometa. Lorena is currently studying Architecture and she helps with public relations and strategy issues.

Among the main challenges that they have faced was choosing the products that they sell, among so many that fascinated them “being convinced that we were going to offer products that we loved and that we wanted so share, not forgetting that this is a business,” they told us, “also, seeing each other as partners, on occasions when the most natural thing was to treat us like sisters, is a different facet, but it is very interested to discover that side of your family.”

This family’s closeness and passion for cookery manifests in each piece prepared with a touch of heartiness, warmth, creativity, and top-quality ingredients, most of them from regional producers, to achieve the freshness and taste that characterizes the delicious Montacometa creations,” they explained.

Some of the satisfactions that our ExaUDEMs have had with Montacometa include receiving very positive comments from customers, as well as seeing them return with their friends and family, but above all, staying united as sisters and partners, doing what they like doing.

To conclude, Tere, Ana Gaby, Marcela, and Lorena recommend that current UDEM students and ExaUDEMs who are interested in enterprising a business should go for it and fulfill their dreams. They say that there will be fires to put out day after day, but that this should not stop them.
