Workshop of: Introduction to Academic Integrity

 

Within the framework of the 11th. Academic Integrity Conference, we invite you to participate in the Introduction to Academic Integrity Workshop, in which you will learn the basic aspects of academic integrity. This learning space will be especially useful if this is the first time you attend the Academic Integrity Congress or if you are starting to work on this topic within your educational institution.
This workshop will cover, among other points:

  • Concepts of academic integrity
  • Principles and benefits of a culture of integrity
  • Academic dishonesty: causes, types, stadistics and impact.


This workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 27 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the University of Monterrey, only for those attending the Congress in in-person mode.

To register for this workshop you only have to choose the option YES in I WILL TAKE THE INTRODUCTION WORKSHOP when registering in the on-person modality.

The instructors for this workshop are:

Mtra. María Alejandra Calderón Swain Universidad Panamericana (UP), México

She has a Master's Degree in Pedagogy from Universidad Panamericana and Bachelor's Degree in Computer Area from ITESO. She is a network tutor for the Universidad de Valparaíso, a specialist in ICT and Education for the Centro de Altos Estudios de la Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos, and in Anthropology and Ethics for the Universidad Panamericana.

She has collaborated for 35 years as a teacher at the Universidad Panamericana, created the Immersion Program to the Technological Environment / Dive In, oriented to education in the digital age.

She is a founding member of the Network for Academic Integrity in Latin America and of the Institutional Academic Integrity Committee of the Universidad Panamericana.
She has been a judge for academic integrity in Latin America in the Global Innovation Awards.

She is currently an Academic Librarian at Universidad Panamericana promoting resources, services and innovation projects.

Mtra. Adriana Lizeth Barberena Cerda UDEM

She graduated with a degree in Information and Communication Sciences and a master's degree in Education Sciences from the Universidad de Monterrey.

She has worked as a magazine editor and collaborated in the areas of communication, public relations and fundraising.

She currently works at the Center of Integrity of the Universidad de Monterrey as coordinator of the Integrity System and Disciplinary Advisor.

There she has promoted the involvement of student groups to promote integrity on campus, as well as training faculty and students to manage cases of academic and disciplinary dishonesty.<


She is also a professor at this university, is part of a collaborative network with universities in Mexico and Latin America to promote a culture of academic integrity and is an active member of the Content Committee of the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI).
