Return to classes | Registrations, course modality, and survey – Undergraduate

San Pedro Garza García, July 10, 2020

Dear UDEM Community:

We hope you are very well and that you and your loved ones are following the recommendations from health authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As a follow-up to the announcement sent out on Thursday, July 2, 2020 in which we informed you of the hybrid format under which classes will be run during the Fall 2020 semester. Hereby, we are sharing with you some key information to properly carry out the registration process to the undergraduate level.

1. Key dates

The following dates have been assigned to the different stages of the registration process:

REGISTRATION PROCESS
Stage   Date
Assignment of date to select courses (time ticket) and consult group catalogue of courses available in each modality.  Starting on Monday, July 20
Course selection From Monday, July 27 to Friday, August 7
Schedule adjustments From Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28
Late registration From Monday, August 31 to Friday, September 4
Beginning of classes Tuesday, September 1

If you want to review the process in greater detail, you may visit the following microsite: udem.edu.mx/InscripcionesProfesional as from July 20.

2. On course modality

Students will be able to choose the modality in which they will take each one of their courses, depending on the offer and availability of the group catalogue.

  • Taking a course in the online modality means that 100% of the course sessions will be held under that modality.
  • Taking a course in the in-person modality means that 100% of the course sessions will be carried out in an academic space.
  • Taking a course in the blended modality means that some of the course sessions will be held in person and some others will be held online, according to the requirements of each course. Once the students have registered for courses in this modality, they will be timely informed of the dates when the in-person sessions will be held.

It is important to point out that not all courses will be offered in the three modalities, so that the students may take some courses in the online modality, some others in the blended modality, and some others in the in-person modality, depending on their choice and course availability. (We should stress that the in-person modality includes those courses that must be held in that modality because of their nature or program requirements.) All this information will be displayed clearly and specifically in the group catalogue and at the time of making your schedule.

3. On clinical practice

Courses involving clinical practicums will be held in the in-person modality, provided that the regulations of health authorities allow it. Information and training will be given to students for each one of the clinical venues where rotations take place. It is important to mention that, in order to protect the health of our students, no rotations will be done at COVID-19 hospitals.

4. Survey on modality preference

For the purpose of identifying student interests, they will be able to answer the following survey through this link: https://CuestionarioPreferenciaAlumnosProf.udem.edu.mx by July 20 at the latest.

Finally, in order to keep constant communication and stay up to date with the services that UDEM has set up and made available to all of you, we kindly ask you to keep track of our official communication channels, social media, and the website udem.edu.mx/Coronavirus, where you will find information on the measures that we are implementing for the return to classes, among other worthy content. We also invite you to be on the lookout for an upcoming announcement that will provide you with detailed information on tuition fees and the process to obtain financial aid.
