Students will acquire basic language and strategies for the Institutional TOEFL exam in order to achieve a goal score of 490. As concerns the Listening Comprehension section of the exam, students will be able to discriminate between similar sounds and different types of negative expressions. With regard to the Structure and Written Expression section, studenst will be able to identify the subject and verb of a sentence, the prepositions, and participles. They will also learn to connect multiple sentences correctly. As for the Reading Comprehension section, students will be able to identfy the main idea and purpose of a written text and distinguish between and identify implicit and explicit ideas. Students will be able to determine the meaning of a word according to its parts and root.
