Upon completion of this course, students will be able to comprehend Professional Construction Project Management as a methodology in order to apply it to the process and development of a building architectural project, as well as the different elements that define the request for tender process, participation in competitions and project management.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply knowledge of administrative costs in architectural works, with the purpose of establishing a budget for a project, comparing effort and time versus the investment.

By the end of this seminar, the students will be able to apply the knowledge gained to establish the most appropriate structural system (constructability) according to architectural necessities, based on mechanical behavior, constructive procedure, construction costs and design implications (cost-benefit analysis), in order to comprehend the evolution of construction system, as well as the best practices and trends to select structures and installations for the buildings in accordance with their use.

By the end of this seminar, the students will be aware of current interests in the practice of architecture through the analysis of current topics that have an influence on architecture and establish the present condition of the discipline.

By the end of this seminar, the students will be aware of the relationship and mutual influence between architecture and other disciplines such as art, design, marketing, fashion, engineering, philosophy, and psychology, for the development of personal judgment in the professional practice of architecture.

By the end of this seminar, the students will be familiar with present trends in architecture within the international context and they will develop their personal criteria when analyzing the current movements that lead to the development of cities and their architecture.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge and design skills to a commercial or institutional project with real characteristics and medium programmatic complexity, in order to develop critical judgment and the capacity to explore and innovate in terms of the architectural proposal, without overlooking the research and the incorporation of aspects such as feasibility, structural criteria, material specifications, construction processes, installations and economic limitations.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to identify the dimensions, components, and tangibles and intangibles of the architectural object to subsequently analyze buildings which will be the basis for the approach to the architectural design.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge and design skills to a residential project with real characteristics and low programmatic complexity in order to develop critical judgment and the capacity to explore and innovate in terms of the architectural proposal, without overlooking the research and incorporation of the structural criteria, materials specifications, construction processes, and installation design.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to recognize and comprehend the principles and basic concepts of sustainability in architecture, in order to analyze critically projects renowned for their sustainable design, proposals and paradigms, examining the design as a response to the environment, including passive and active systems.
