Dear students and parents:
We hope this announcement finds you well, pursuing your studies and work diligently and that you and your families are complying with the health authorities’ recommendations to reduce COVID-19 spread.
As you know, UDEM has been monitoring the epidemic situation caused by COVID-19 closely for several months in order to protect the health and well-being of our community. In virtue of this, several preventative measures have been implemented to reduce the spread of this disease and the activities planned for the upcoming months are being reconsidered.
We have carried out a comprehensive analysis of the implications of offering summer courses abroad and in other national institutions, taking into account the national and international context resulting from this pandemic. Several factors that keep us from ensuring a comprehensive quality experience to our students have been assessed, such as the risks of contagion, the sanitary measures in place in many countries, the cancellation of some programs by our partner universities, entry restrictions to some countries, the limited availability of international flights, the volatility of exchange rates, as well as the high level of general uncertainty. As a result of this assessment, we have made the decision to cancel all international summer programs, as well as the national programs at other educational institutions, in order to safeguard our students’ safety and health.
Any payments made to these programs will be reimbursed or credited to your UDEM account. If you have any outstanding debts, these payments will be applied to them or to the payment of registration for the summer term to be offered by UDEM or, if you do not enroll for any summer courses, to the payment of registration for the Fall 2020 term. If you have any queries about this point, please contact [email protected]
We understand that this decision may cause some inconvenience and upset your plans, which is all the more reason to thank you for your understanding regarding the measures and decisions taken to preserve your health and prevent you from being exposed to situations of risk.
We kindly request that you keep up to date on our official communication channels and through our website udem.edu.mx/Coronavirus to keep abreast of UDEM’s actions.
Sincerely,
Office of International Programs
