III COIL International Seminar

ANNOUNCEMENT

In order to promote intercultural experiences among our teachers, this seminar seeks to share, from the teachers’ perspective, good practices, success stories, as well as areas of opportunity in the use of the COIL methodology in the classroom.

We invite all the faculty of Prepa UDEM or any other institution of higher secondary education in Mexico and abroad, who have carried out a COIL project in their classroom, to participate with a presentation of no more than twenty minutes in the panel COIL: success stories and challenges to overcome.

We suggest your presentations to address the following topics:

  • The creation of intercultural knowledge
  • Team collaboration
  • Use of technologies
  • Areas of opportunity in virtual projects
  • Experiences in the classroom from virtuality
  • Collaborative work with a different culture
  • Interdisciplinary projects
  • COIL projects with different languages

Speakers

Mariana Villalobos Orta

Bachelor of Law from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León, with diplomas in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Emotional Education, among others. Founder and Director of "Infancia Plena" a Civil Association with over 15 years of experience in delivering courses, workshops, and conferences on effective communication and the promotion of
non-violent communication. Activist for the human rights of children and women. Founder of "ComunicArte" an entrepreneurship dedicated to providing solutions in the field of effective communication with a focus on a culture of peace.

Dra. Andréa Rosana Fetzner

She served as a Basic Education teacher from 1984 to 1993 and currently holds the position of Director of the Faculty of Education at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. She has been a full professor since 2007 in the Department of Didactics. She also serves as a supervisor for master's and doctoral programs in the fields of Education (Postgraduate in Education since 2009) and Music (since 2019). She is a FAPERJ State Scientist (since 2021) and was a Young State Scientist (FAPERJ 2012-2014 and 2015- 2019). She is a member of the Editorial Board of several journals in the field of Education and has authored numerous articles. Her research interests include curriculum, assessment, teaching plans, and teacher training.

Antonio Hilario

Ph.D. in Anthropology (UNTREF - Argentina, 2018); Ph.D. in Anthropology (University of Salamanca/Spain - 2006); Master's in Educational Technologies (University of Salamanca - 2001); Master's in Indigenous Education (UFMT - 1999); Specialization in Anthropology (UFMT - 1999); Bachelor's in Philosophy (1984) and Bachelor's in Pedagogy (1994) from the University of Cuiabá.
With expertise in Ethnology, as well as in the fields of Education and Anthropology, with a focus on Indigenous Education. She is a member of the National Commission for Reports (Brazilian Association of Anthropology) and has been coordinating the Rede de Saberes Program since 2012.
She has conducted expert assessments for the Judiciary (State and Federal), technical work for UNICEF, and has been involved in environmental licensing studies/reports. She is an associate professor at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, where she also coordinates the Graduate Program in Anthropology (PPGAS/UFMS) and teaches in the Graduate Program in Human Rights at UFMS. Additionally, she collaborates as a professor in the Graduate Program in Education at UCDB.
She is a researcher in the ESIAL-UNTREF Program (Argentina), a member of the UNESCO Chair on Higher Education and Indigenous and Afrodescendant Peoples in Latin America (coordinated by Prof. Dr. Daniel Mato), and a researcher for CNPq. Moreover, she is a beneficiary of the PQ2 Productivity Program.

Adriana Holguin

Adriana Holguín Gorena, Ph.D. in Education and Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management. For over 25 years, she has worked as a teacher in Information Technology, Design Thinking, and innovation. She has served as a mentor, guiding students in the development of service learning experiences and human values. She has a deep passion for international experiences and has been promoting collaborative distance projects for 14 years, as well as organizing study trips to the USA and Germany for Prepa UDEM students
