Keynote Speakers

Guy Curtis

Associate Professor Guy Curtis is a faculty member in the School of Psychological Science at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and multi-award-winning university teacher. He graduated with a PhD in psychology in 2002 and has been actively researching academic integrity for over two decades. Professor Curtis has published over 50 journal articles, including research charting trends, prevalence, and predictors of academic misconduct. He was recently ranked by ScholarGPS™ among the top 0.5% of researchers in research on higher education in the past 5 years. In recognition of his expertise, he has been contracted by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) to provide nationwide resources and education on academic integrity in Australia. In 2021, Professor Curtis was awarded Studiosity Australia’s inaugural Tracey Bretag Prize for outstanding commitment to advancing the understanding and implementation of academic integrity.

Professor Curtis has made highly impactful editorial contributions to higher education and academic integrity scholarship. He co-edited the first scholarly book on contract cheating in higher education (https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-031-12680-2), the contract cheating section of the Second Handbook of Academic Integrity (https://link.springer.com/referencework/10.1007/978-981-287-079-7), and the recent book Academic Integrity in the Social Sciences (https://link.springer.com/book/9783031432910). Professor Curtis is a current Co-Editor of the journal Higher Education Research & Development.

Blaire Wilson

Blaire Wilson is the senior associate director of the Honor Council and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Emory College of Arts & Sciences at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Wilson has worked in higher education since 2014 with a concentration in university disciplinary processes. While overseeing the honor code process in the Emory College of Arts & Sciences, she also teaches a practicum course every fall and spring semester. The practicum course serves as the primary training mechanism for students serving on the honor council. Wilson has developed educational training programs for students, drafted academic integrity policies, and produced resources for faculty. Wilson also manages assessment, data collection, and data reporting for the program. In 2024, Wilson was recognized by Emory with the Award of Distinction for her support of undergraduate students navigating challenging disciplinary matters and implementation of restorative justice practices.
 

Wilson serves as the President of the International Center for Academic Integrity. She has served on the Board of Directors since March 2022. Her involvement in the organization has primarily focused on the Conference Committee. She has served since 2020 as a general member and has led the committee as Chair of the 2023 conference in Indianapolis and Co-Chair of the 2025 conference in Chicago. 
 

 

Dr Thomas Lancaster

El Dr. Thomas Lancaster es profesor titular de Informática en el Imperial College de Londres (Reino Unido) y ha realizado investigaciones sobre integridad académica por 24 años.

 Es un entusiasta usuario de la tecnología, incluidos los nuevos sistemas de inteligencia artificial generativa, así también es un defensor de la colaboración con los estudiantes en materia de integridad académica. Thomas participa frecuentemente en conferencias sobre enseñanza y aprendizaje, escribió el libro «Avoid Plagiarism» para Sage y, en 2023, la Red Europea para la Integridad Académica (ENAI) le otorgó el premio Tracey Bretag por toda una vida de logros en integridad académica.

Kelly Ahuna

Dr. Kelly Ahuna is the Director of the Office of Academic Integrity at the University at Buffalo (UB). Faculty for 20 years, Kelly first ran an undergraduate critical thinking program and later worked with graduate teacher candidates on curriculum and instruction.

Her overarching interest in student and teacher success led her to the growing field of academic integrity work and her current role as the inaugural director at UB where she has developed policy and procedures, established a robust post-violation remediation process, and co-founded the Northeast Regional Consortium of the International Center for Academic Integrity (ICAI).

Most recently, Kelly co-authored the article, “Claiming Space for Honest Work: Academic Integrity as Third Space Labor” in Workplace Special Issue: Third Space Academic Labor.

Courtney S. Cullen

Courtney S. Cullen is an Academic Professional at Georgia Institute of Technology, where she oversees the assessment of the Quality Enhancement Plan, a requirement for accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education at the University of Georgia and is writing her dissertation on the effectiveness of restorative justice-based academic integrity remediation programs. Previously, she served as Senior Coordinator for Academic Honesty & Student Appeals at UGA, where she implemented innovative programs and contributed to building a culture of academic integrity on campus.

Courtney is also a published author and active presenter, with a research focus on academic integrity, educational policy, and assessment.

Dr. Terrie Flatt

Soy director del Programa de Servicios Clínicos Oncológicos e Investigación para Hispanos del Children's Mercy Hospital (CMH) y profesor asociado de la Universidad de Kansas, Kansas City, MO.  

Desarrollé la primera clínica pediátrica bilingüe para niños hispanos con trastornos sanguíneos y oncológicos en los Estados Unidos.  Mi investigación se centra en las disparidades en la atención sanitaria, incluido el panorama genómico específico de esta población, y en desarrollar protocolos internacionales/nacionales que aborden las disparidades en esta población.  

Administro exitosamente dos protocolos de leucemia financiados por subvenciones en 8 hospitales de México y en CMH. Llevamos a cabo dos estudios dedicados al sarcoma pediátrico con énfasis en la población hispana. Nuestro trabajo sobre el sarcoma ha llevado a la investigación traslacional, y soy la IP de un modelo de xenoinjerto que está evaluando la eficacia de un nuevo agente en el sarcoma de Ewing.  

Soy codirector de nuestro programa de Terapéutica Experimental y tengo experiencia en el desarrollo de ensayos clínicos de fase inicial, así como en la supervisión de dichos ensayos en el entorno clínico.  

Una de mis funciones principales es mejorar el acceso a los ensayos clínicos para pacientes/familias con un dominio limitado del inglés. Tengo experiencia en el diseño, la realización y la interpretación de los resultados de los estudios preclínicos.  También soy director de World Child Cancer, USA-México, una organización sin ánimo de lucro dedicada a mejorar los resultados del tratamiento de cáncer de niños en México.
