IN 3501 Transportation and Inventory Systems

The aim of this course is for students to: (1) Design distribution and transportation strategies to fulfill the desired service level at minimum cost, based on the relevant characteristics of transport means. (2) Be acquainted with the current situation, advantages, and disadvantages of transport infrastructure in Mexico. (3) Understand the supply, demand, and fare structure of highway and railway transportation in Mexico, as well as the regulations concerning the Free Trade Agreement.

ID 1995 Preparation for Success in the TOEFL

The course prepares students to obtain a minimum of 550 points in the Institutional TOEFL examination.  Students will be acquainted with the structure of the test, the types of questions, and the strategies to determine the correct answers.  They will take mock tests under conditions similar to those of the test.  For languages other than English, preparation will be carried out in accordance with the corresponding test.

ID 1515 Effective Communication in Business English

By the end of this course, students will be acquainted with and understand the business culture of other countries as well as internationally accepted procedures, rules and etiquette.  The course aims to examine and critique effective communication techniques and  inculcate the appreciation of other cultures in students.

ID 1505 Professional Writing in English

The aim of this course is for students to: (1) Become acquainted with internationally accepted formats (résumés, reports, memos, e-mails) and analyze them in order to be able to produce them. (2) Read and analyze research papers in order to be able to replicate them, following internationally accepted formats.
