DG 2215 Print and Digital Media

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to understand and apply the techniques and methods of artistic printing. They will also become acquainted with commercial printing methods and with materials and techniques, selection of paper, and binding methods in order to evaluate appropriate means for the actual production of graphic design projects.

DG 2210 Foundations of Video for Designers

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply acquired knowledge of video implementation using graphic and conceptual aspects to give continuity to narrative; as well as the technical aspects of editing, tools and equipment, involving suitable computer programs. The course aims to train students in the application of digital video to creative ideas which involve motion and sound.

DG 2205 Typography

Upon completion of this course, students will become acquainted with the historical and social development of typography, its application as a communication element, its parts and meaning in human language in order to apply it to any kind of published message, whether in print or electronic media. This will be achieved through research and practical exercises that apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during the course.

DG 1130 Strategies for Image Making

Upon completion of this course, students will acquire skills to observe and explore through various expression techniques (such as the use of color, abstraction, and mixed media) and to analyze current trends in visual culture in order to create images. This will be achieved through practical exercises where they will apply previously acquired know-how both individually and in groups.

DG 1120 Graphic Design Fundamentals Studio

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to describe basic graphic design concepts. In the course, students will explore media and materials, the use of visual elements and composition, with the purpose of applying the fundamentals of graphic creation in an actual practical environment. This will be achieved through a course that links theory and the implementation of acquired knowledge.

DG 1100 Introductory Studies in Visual Thinking

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to describe the principles of visual organization necessary for any design pieces and use discipline-specific language. They will also be able to apply skills and techniques in order to formulate and express themselves correctly in terms of visual production. This will be achieved through a course that links theory and the implementation of acquired knowledge.
