ID 1120 Upper-Intermediate Spanish

During this level, students will work with more formal situations in order to contribute in a more significant way to conversations according to different situations (classroom, ethical discussion, negotiations in general).  They will be able to write summaries of events and meetings, among other situations.  Through a more developed vocabulary, students will be able to communicate more efficiently and fluently.

ID 1111 Pre-intermediate Spanish

Students will understand most of the common situations of daily life with help from their interlocutors and they will function reasonably well in simple daily life. They will understand simple readings (instructions, personal letters, comics or texts giving an opinion) and will be able to write them as well.

ID 1105 Elementary Spanish

Students will broaden the knowledge acquired during the first level; they are expected to express likes and dislikes, preferences, suggestions and advice for daily situations such as traveling, touristic sites, food and restaurants.  They will be able to talk about the future, their wishes, goals and actions leading to those goals. They will also be able to describe past actions precisely.

ID 1100 Introductory Spanish

For foreigners without any knowledge of the Spanish language. The students will learn basic vocabulary and simple verbal tenses and they will be able to name and describe objects in common situations such as home, classroom, supermarkets and restaurants. They will also be able to compare past and present.

ID 0003 Advanced English

Students will become familiar with and understand the culture of English-speaking countries and the procedures, norms and etiquette which are acceptable in international situations in these countries. Students will examine and critique effective communication in the English language. They will also demonstrate their own ability to communicate effectively in English in academic and professional contexts.

ID 0002 Intermediate English

Students will learn basic strategies for the Institutional TOEFL exam in order to achieve a minimum score of 520. As concerns the Listening Comprehension section of the exam, students will be able to identify expressions of agreement, desire and phrasal verbs. With regard to the Structure and Written Expression section, students will be able to analyze the verb and identify time, tense and form.

ID 0001 Basic English

Students will acquire basic language and strategies for the Institutional TOEFL exam in order to achieve a goal score of 490. As concerns the Listening Comprehension section of the exam, students will be able to discriminate between similar sounds and different types of negative expressions. With regard to the Structure and Written Expression section, studenst will be able to identify the subject and verb of a sentence, the prepositions, and participles.
