The specialist doctor in clinical pathology, through medical practice based on an educational methodology focused on problem-solving, should be a highly competent doctor in their specific field of action.

The duration of the Specialty in Clinical Pathology is 3 years.

Objective

To train professionals who evaluate the methods and techniques for obtaining, processing, and interpreting specimens collected for biochemical, microbiological, histochemical, molecular biology, genetic, and immunological studies; thereby contributing to the diagnosis of diseases affecting patients. Additionally, to promote respectful interaction with colleagues and the healthcare team within a framework of humanism and professional ethics; adhering to the regulations that underpin their daily activities in the clinical laboratory and blood bank; to provide the foundations and necessary tools to be leaders in their area, reflecting social responsibility and environmental awareness in their daily actions; using the scientific method as a regular instrument for their professional development and maintaining continuous education

Admission profile

  • To know the clinical method, the epidemiological method, and basic statistics.

  • To manage spoken and written Spanish properly and fluently.

  • To understand and translate from English.

  • To know the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in general medicine.

  • To be capable of conducting a systematic review of the patient.

  • To have basic internet skills.

  • To know how to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
