Objective
To train pediatric pulmonologists capable of meeting the highest biopsychosocial health expectations in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of acute and chronic respiratory diseases in pediatric patients. This includes a special emphasis on the human aspect of medicine, offering maximum standards of patient care and safety. They will coordinate with multidisciplinary health teams within a framework of ethics, professionalism, and profound respect for the environment. They will employ scientific research methodology as a habitual instrument in their daily practice and remain committed to continuous professional development in their discipline.

Identification of pediatric patients with genetic syndromes manifested in clinical presentations and malformations of the respiratory tract.
Upon completion of your studies in Pediatric Pneumology, you will have developed the following skills:

Ability to resolve prevention, diagnosis, comprehensive management, and follow-up of sequelae in the care of acute and chronic pneumopathies, as well as cardiorespiratory conditions in children.

Reflective use of prevention, diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation resources available.

Proficiency in indicating, interpreting, and performing diagnostic or therapeutic auxiliary studies such as respiratory function tests, arterial puncture, laryngoscopy, tracheostomy, transtracheal aspiration, bronchoscopy, pleuropulmonary puncture, thoracentesis, thoracotomy, pleurotomy, pleural and pulmonary biopsy, panendoscopy, cardiac catheterization, subclavian catheter placement, ventilation, physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy; interpretation of simple and contrasted radiological images as well as ultrasound, pulmonary gammagraphy, angiography, among others.
