Objective

To prepare specialist physicians in the field of Pediatric Surgery with an academic formation that includes knowledge of basic sciences, clinical expertise, and the fundamentals of pediatrics, capable of meeting the highest biopsychosocial health expectations in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders or illnesses affecting children, from birth, especially in the surgical field. Additionally, they will be able to skillfully utilize state-of-the-art technology in techniques to provide appropriate and effective care, enabling them to practice with the highest standards of patient care and safety, coordinating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Furthermore, the specialist in Pediatric Surgery will operate within a framework of ethics, humanism, and dedication to service, while respecting the environment, employing scientific research methodology as a routine instrument in their daily practice and remaining committed to continuous professional development in their discipline.
