Objective
To prepare specialist doctors in Psychiatry with an academic background that includes knowledge of basic and clinical sciences, capable of diagnosing and treating mental disorders from childhood to adulthood. They skillfully use innovative technology in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and instruments in Psychiatry to practice with the highest standards of patient care and safety, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Also, understand the natural history of mental disorders, their pathophysiological mechanisms, and anatomopathological lesions, as well as methods for primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.

Apply knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, from clinical history to diagnostic imaging studies, neuropsychological tests, and clinimetric instruments, including their indication, interpretation, utility, risks, and complications.

Have scientific knowledge of individual, group, and family psychotherapeutic aspects, as well as technical, medical, humanistic, psychological, and administrative procedures for appropriate medical care in individual and group circumstances encountered in professional practice.
