Center for Molecular Diagnosis and Personalized Medicine
In the Center for Molecular Diagnosis and Personalized Medicine (CDMMP) we seek to innovate in methods of detection, which allow improving medical practice through individual therapies, according to the specific needs of each patient.
We develop activities focused on the generation of disease detection methods through frontier technology, generation of novel therapeutic methods, and research and education in these fields.
Objective
Innovate and promote the development of efficient diagnostic tests through the use of cutting-edge technologies, allowing the precise identification of the specific and unique therapeutic needs of each patient, which will allow us to develop or implement a personalized and efficient medicine.
Specific objectives
- Molecular diagnoses of infectious-contagious diseases: provide a molecular diagnostic service that serves as a basis for personalized design that meets the therapeutic needs of each patient.
- Diagnostics by high resolution microscopy and tumor markers: innovate with high efficacy and efficiency diagnostic tests, by applying border techniques, as molecular markers for the identification of normal and tumor tissue receptors.
- Diagnoses of molecular genetics and molecular pharmacology development: for the identification of the susceptibility given the individual genetic variability for the new drugs.
- Nanotechnological applications for cell culture and tissue engineering: design of tissues and cells using hematopoietic precursors and nano-technological compounds.
- Timely clinical diagnosis: provide diagnosis.
- Bromatological determinations in food: determine the nutritional quality of food, develop nutritional labels and verify compliance with quality standards.
Units
Biosafety Laboratory Level III
Here, bacterial and viral cultures are worked under maximum containment and biological security.
This laboratory has the support of the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston and directly from the National Biosecurity Center of the United States, who trained the management staff.
High resolution microscopy and image analysis
This unit offers economically reasonable services to basic and advanced microscopy instruments, and advice to users for the analysis of the images obtained in it.
Molecular Diagnostic and Genetics Laboratory
Nucleic acid analysis, extraction of DNA from blood samples, cultures of fungi and bacteria is carried out in this unit; analyzes the quality of the extracted DNA or RNA and quantifies it. In the same way, it takes control of the databases of biobanks. In addition, it offers the sequencing service.
It is designed based on the stipulations of the InDRE and the Ministry of Health regarding the handling of respiratory viruses and paremiological contingencies.
Bank of Cells, Tissues and Organs
In this laboratory activities of processing, preservation, storage and distribution of human cells and tissues are carried out.
Sanitary License No. 17-TR-19-019-0001. CARDIOVASCULAR TISSUE BANK FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES.
Clinical analisys laboratory
This laboratory has the necessary equipment and the support of professional personnel specialized in the area; basic and special clinical analyzes are carried out, with strict quality control.
It has an operation notice for the key S. C. I. A. N. Medical and diagnostic laboratories of the private sector.
Our processes are based on compliance with official Mexican standards: NOM-007-SSA3-2011 for the organization and operation of clinical laboratories and NOM-087-SEMARNAT-SSA1-2002 for Environmental protection, Environmental health, Biological hazardous waste- infectious, and Classification and management specifications; there is a quality management system based on ISO-15189: 2012 Specifications and requirements for clinical laboratories.
Bromatology
In this unit the nutritional quality of the food is determined, the nutritional labels are elaborated or the compliance with specifications is verified under NOM 051 SCFI / SSA1-2010.
Our determinations are based on compliance with Mexican official standards: NOM 051 SCFI / SSA1-2010 General labeling specifications for pre-packaged foods and non-alcoholic beverages-Commercial and health information; there is a quality management system based on the ISO / IEC 17025 standard of 2017 "General requirements for the competence of the test and calibration laboratories".
Commitees
In Mexico, the person responsible for health safety is the Secretaría de Salud who, through the Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios (COFEPRIS), issues the sanitary authorization of products. Research Committee.
