The specialist in Pulmonology, through a medical practice based on problem-solving educational methodology, characterized by being trained to provide quality professional care to the community in any national and international setting of interest.

The duration of the Specialty in Pulmonology is 4 years.

Objective

To prepare specialists in Pulmonology with an academic background encompassing knowledge of basic sciences, clinical practices, and fundamentals of Internal Medicine; capable of diagnosing and managing acute and chronic respiratory conditions, adeptly employing state-of-the-art technology in Pulmonology techniques to deliver professional practice at the highest standards of patient care and safety; collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Admission profile

Knowledge 

  • To have a deep understanding of the scientific foundations of medicine: basic sciences (physiology, biochemistry, anatomy, neuroanatomy, pharmacology, histology, embryology, etc.), clinical sciences (internal medicine, general surgery, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, emergency medicine, family medicine, preventive medicine, public health).

  • To possess extensive knowledge of scientific methodology and epidemiological methods.

  • To master Spanish both orally and in writing.

  • To understand and translate the English language.

  • Manage diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology.

  • Work in teams.

  • Systematically retrieving medical information.

  • Have basic skills in managing the Internet.
