The truth is that having the opportunity and the privilege of studying at UDEM has helped me a lot to improve my quality of life; I never imagined I would have and live everything that has happened until today; therefore, I am very grateful to the University of Monterrey, because, as they say, it has truly inspired me and has brought out the best version of me”

Since he was a child, Yahir García felt motivated to fight the injustices he observed in his environment, a purpose that led him to choose to study law.

“I don't like the injustices that happen in the country, which is why I like to fight for human rights, investigate and protect human dignity,” he said.

In addition, the program Formar para Transformar coincided with his vision of transforming his environment, which made him feel that it was the right place to develop his career.

Recently, Yahir was recognized by the firm Santos-Elizondo, a renowned law firm in the state, for his human quality and service to the community.

He stood out among 95 students from different universities and, currently, he is doing professional internships at the firm, which has allowed him to reinforce values and acquire additional knowledge to those of the university.

“UDEM teaches not only knowledge, but also values; there at the firm, I reaffirm them and exercise them in practice,” he said.

Before entering UDEM, Yahir studied technical high school in the municipality of García, where he developed the Marcando vidas project, which aims to promote young people from technical high schools so that, through their career, they can work professionally in favor of the community.

The Marcando vidas project was also extended to the municipality of Zuazua. Thanks to this initiative and the Forming to Transform program, Yahir was able to apply for a scholarship that allowed him to enter UDEM.

The Bachelor of Law student expressed much pride in his project and showed his gratitude for the opportunities he has been given to improve it.

“It makes me feel very happy, it makes me feel very fulfilled and also very grateful for the opportunities and tools that UDEM and the Formar para Transformar program have given me to modify and professionalize my project even more,” he said.

One of the reasons why Yahir decided to join UDEM was because of its focus on human quality, support for social projects and its positive impact on nearby communities.

Yahir has participated in programs such as Jóvenes a Tiempo and Ashoka, which provided him with tools to address social problems. These experiences, combined with UDEM's comprehensive education, have transformed his personal and professional life.

In his future, Yahir wishes to continue acquiring skills to positively impact society, whether from the private sphere, the government or a civil organization.

“The truth is, I don't know in what area I will end up practicing, but I know that from the place where I end up practicing my career, I will be able to make too much of an impact with everything that UDEM has given me,” he said.

To young people facing challenges similar to his own, Yahir offered as advice to dare and keep trying everything they set their minds to.

“That they dare to do good. If they have an idea, implement it. When I started my social project I had absolutely no one to help me, so let's start somewhere, so let's not be afraid to go for a yes, because maybe that opportunity or that project can change your life, just as that opportunity did for me,” said the entrepreneur.
