The specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, through a medical practice grounded in an educational methodology focused on problem-solving, becomes a highly efficient physician in their specific field of action.

The duration of the Specialty in Gynecology and Obstetrics is 4 years.

Objective

To prepare medical specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology for the comprehensive care of women, capable of identifying, preventing, and treating pathological aspects of the female reproductive system, with a biopsychosocial approach. They should possess the skills to practice their specialty with high professional and humanistic values, enabling them to establish an effective doctor-patient-family relationship, and to integrate and work with the multidisciplinary health team with respect, quality, human warmth, and responsibility towards society.

Knowledge

  • Understand the scientific foundations of general medicine.

  • Have basic knowledge of scientific methodology and epidemiological methods.

  • Be proficient in spoken and written Spanish.

  • Understand and translate from English.

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology.
